May 5, (V7N) — An armed attack by unidentified ARSA terrorists left one man dead and two others injured in Rohingya Camp‑7 of Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 7:30 pm near Tarjar Bridge, between Camp‑8/East (A/32 point) and Camp‑7, under the jurisdiction of Noukarmath Police Camp. According to Ukhia 14 APBN Commander (Additional DIG) Siraj Amin, gunmen opened fire on a group returning by motorcycle from Balukhali Camp‑8/East.
The deceased was identified as Kefayet Ullah alias Abdul Halim, leader of the ARO group and a resident of Block F/2 in Camp‑7. He was first taken to Friendship Hospital and later shifted to Kutupalong MSF Hospital, where he died during treatment. His father is Badsha Mia and mother Nur Bahar.
Two others, Mohammad Ullah (37) and Nur Mohammad, sustained gunshot wounds and are undergoing treatment at MSF Hospital after initial care at Friendship Hospital.
Police teams rushed to the scene, rescued the injured with the help of locals, and intensified operations and intelligence surveillance to track down the attackers.
