Dhaka, May 05 (V7N) — State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid has said that elections in India are an internal matter and will not affect the foreign policy of Bangladesh.

She made the remarks during a press briefing following an exchange of views with Deputy Commissioners at the District Commissioners’ Conference held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday (May 5).

The State Minister said discussions were held with DCs on issues including climate change, cultural development, and sports. She also highlighted concerns over deaths involving human trafficking brokers, urging stronger awareness campaigns to prevent such incidents.

She added that talks also focused on strengthening technical training centers to reduce illegal migration and create employment opportunities within the country.

Shama Obaid further said that Deputy Commissioners are free to communicate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at any time to address administrative or policy-related issues.
