Dhaka, Aug 24 (V7N) - On Sunday evening at 7:30 PM, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ishaq Dar, held a private meeting with former Bangladeshi Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia at her residence in Gulshan, Dhaka.

The meeting was part of Mr. Dar's ongoing diplomatic visit to Bangladesh. According to BNP sources, the discussion was primarily centered on Begum Zia’s health condition, which has been a matter of national concern for several years due to her ongoing critical medical issues.

Begum Khaleda Zia, widely regarded by her supporters as the "Mother of Democracy," has been under close medical supervision since being diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses. The Pakistan foreign minister expressed his goodwill and conveyed prayers for her recovery, reflecting the longstanding historical and political ties between the two nations.

While the meeting remained private, diplomatic observers consider it a significant gesture of political courtesy, especially given the current regional and domestic political dynamics.
