Dhaka, Aug 10 (V7N)- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants good relations with neighboring Bangladesh, Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Dinesh Trivedi has said.
He made the remarks after a meeting with Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed at the Secretariat on Monday (August 10).
Dinesh Trivedi said there are various democratic issues between the two countries, and there may be more such issues in the future. However, he said this is part of the nature of diplomacy and democracy, and such issues can be resolved through dialogue.
“Our history and the reality of our borders cannot be changed. We share dreams with each other. I hope that the coming days will also be good,” he said.
The Indian High Commissioner said both sides should take initiatives to resolve their outstanding issues.
“There is no problem that cannot be resolved through dialogue. The common people of both countries want good relations between Bangladesh and India,” he said.
Dinesh Trivedi also expressed gratitude for the warm reception he has received in Bangladesh.
“The affection and love that I have received in Bangladesh over the last two months have truly overwhelmed me,” he said.
