Chittagong, Dec 05 (V7N) – One of the annual examinations postponed due to the ongoing agitation of secondary school teachers across the country was held today, Friday—despite it being a weekend holiday. The authorities arranged the exam under special measures in an effort to reduce academic losses and keep the academic calendar on track.
In Chittagong city, strict security was deployed at various examination centers from early morning. Inspectors and education officials were present in adequate numbers, ensuring that the exam proceeded in a peaceful and orderly environment.
However, a section of parents expressed frustration, saying that holding exams during a holiday amid teachers’ unrest is unfair to students. They claim that such decisions are putting students under unnecessary mental pressure.
Education officials defended the move, stating that the holiday exam was necessary to manage the ongoing session jam and maintain students’ academic continuity. They confirmed that another postponed annual exam will be conducted tomorrow in several districts, including Pabna and Sylhet.
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as teacher agitation continues in different regions.
