Dhaka, Aug 13 (V7N) — Bangladesh is positively considering Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s proposed visit to India, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam has said.
She made the remarks while responding to questions from journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday (August 13).
Shama Obaid said the Prime Minister is likely to visit India amid his ongoing domestic engagements, although the date of the visit has not yet been finalized.
She said India should make good use of the opportunity, adding that many issues between the two countries can be resolved through bilateral discussions.
Regarding the Prime Minister’s possible visits to other countries, including Japan, the State Minister said no dates have yet been finalized. The schedule will be decided after discussions with the respective countries.
Meanwhile, speaking about the export of Bangladeshi workers to Singapore, Shama Obaid said a successful government-level meeting had been held on the issue.
She said effective discussions were also held to explore opportunities for increasing manpower exports to Singapore.
