Cox’s Bazar, Oct 2 (V7N) – Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) maintained continuous security at Durga Puja pandals across Ukhiya and Teknaf upazilas to ensure a safe celebration for Hindu devotees. Four platoons of BGB personnel from Ukhiya Battalion (64 BGB) were deployed, providing organized and effective security throughout the festival.
From September 24 to October 2, 64 BGB members increased security at six pandals located in the border areas while conducting intelligence monitoring and patrol operations. Following the conclusion of the celebrations on Bijoya Dashami, Hindu devotees safely immersed idols in the sea with the support of the BGB. Immersion took place at locations along Marine Drive in Baharchhara and two points along the Naf River.
