Aug 13 (V7N) —A low pressure area has formed over North Bay and adjoining West Bengal-Bangladesh coast which is likely to intensify while the maritime ports have been asked to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
Under its influence, squally weather may affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, according to a latest warning issued by the storm warning center of the meteorological department here today.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind with a speed of 45-60 km/hour likely to occur at many places including Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla and Cox's Bazar regions.
The river ports of these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number one, confirmed by an official handout.
