Dhaka, Jul 09 (V7N)- Law Minister Md. Asaduzzaman has said that Bangladesh's next parliamentary election will be held under a caretaker or non-partisan government, with the final framework to be determined through consultations with relevant stakeholders.

The minister made the remarks during a briefing on the verdict related to the 15th Constitutional Amendment at the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.

He said the government is committed to holding the next national election under a neutral administration, adding that the exact format of the caretaker or non-partisan government will be finalized following discussions with political parties and other stakeholders.

"The next parliamentary election will be held under a caretaker government. However, its structure will be determined after consultations with the relevant stakeholders," the minister said.

Md. Asaduzzaman also announced that the government plans to introduce a constitutional amendment bill in the next session of Parliament in light of the court's verdict on the 15th Amendment.

He said the proposed amendment would place the July Charter at the center of the reform process, describing it as the primary guiding document for the planned constitutional changes.

According to the minister, the government intends to align future constitutional reforms with both the court's directives and the principles outlined in the July Charter.
