Dhaka, Jul 03 (V7N) — A festive atmosphere is prevailing at the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (FDC) as voting is underway for the biennial election of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association.
Polling began at 9:30 a.m. on Friday and will continue until 6:30 p.m., with a total of 573 registered voters expected to cast their ballots.
Two panels are contesting this year's election. One is the Arman–Mukti Parishad, while the other is the Shiva Sanu–Joy Chowdhury Parishad.
Artists, filmmakers and supporters gathered at the FDC premises from the morning, creating a vibrant atmosphere as members of the association vote to elect their new leadership for the next two years.
Election officials expressed hope that the voting process would be completed peacefully and that the results would be announced after ballot counting concludes.
