Tehran, Jul 03 (V7N) – Belarusian Parliament Speaker Igor Sergeenko arrived in Tehran on Friday to attend the funeral of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and held a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf.
According to Iranian state media, the meeting took place on Friday as senior representatives and officials from numerous countries gathered in Tehran to participate in the funeral ceremonies for the late Iranian leader.
Sergeenko, Speaker of Belarus' House of Representatives, paid a courtesy call on Ghalibaf following his arrival in the Iranian capital.
Iranian state media did not immediately disclose details of the discussions between the two parliamentary leaders.
The visit is part of a series of diplomatic engagements taking place alongside the funeral ceremonies, with delegations from multiple countries traveling to Tehran to pay their respects to the late Iranian leader.
