Paris, Oct 11 (V7N)- Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) came from behind to defeat Le Mans 3-1 in Ligue 1 on Saturday, securing their third consecutive league victory ahead of their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester City.

Despite leaving several regular starters on the bench, Luis Enrique's side claimed all three points at the Parc des Princes and moved up to fifth place in the league standings.

PSG took the lead in the first half through Brazilian centre-back Lucas Beraldo, who converted a penalty. Le Mans responded after the break, with Louis Maputa scoring in the 54th minute to level the match at 1-1.

The hosts quickly regained control. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia restored PSG's lead in the 61st minute, just two minutes after coming off the bench. Maghnes Akliouche then scored seven minutes later to seal the 3-1 victory.

PSG will next travel to England to face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in a crucial Champions League fixture.

Meanwhile, Monaco missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of Ligue 1 after drawing 2-2 at home against Toulouse.

Adan Diop opened the scoring for Monaco before Matthijs Ablin doubled the advantage ahead of halftime. Toulouse fought back after the break, with Kasper Tengstedt converting a penalty following a foul on US international defender Mark McKenzie by Flavio Nazinho.

Tengstedt later helped create Toulouse's equaliser in the 59th minute, delivering a cross that Sion Oppong headed into the net.

Elsewhere, Lille defeated Le Havre 1-0 at home. Dylan Bakwa, who joined the club on loan from Premier League side Nottingham Forest, scored just five minutes into the match. The victory moved Lille to within one point of league leaders Monaco.

Lorient also secured a 1-0 victory over Paris FC, managed by Liam Rosenior. Despite the defeat, Paris FC remained fourth in the standings, ahead of PSG.
