Dhaka, Oct 11 (V7N)- Bangladesh has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that killed two Bangladeshi citizens and injured many others, some of whom remain in critical condition.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and extended condolences to the families of the victims. It also wished those injured in the attack a speedy recovery.

The ministry said the Bangladesh Mission in Riyadh was maintaining contact with Saudi authorities to obtain detailed information about the Bangladeshi nationals killed and injured and to ensure that the affected receive necessary assistance.

The statement stressed that endangering civilian lives and targeting civilian infrastructure were unacceptable under any circumstances, calling for an immediate end to such attacks.

Bangladesh also expressed strong solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia following the incident.

Emphasizing the importance of regional peace, security and stability, the ministry called for an immediate cessation of hostile activities. It further urged all parties to pursue dialogue and diplomatic initiatives to resolve the ongoing crisis peacefully while ensuring the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure.
