Dhaka, Oct 7 (V7N) – Bangladesh spinners Nasum Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have climbed into the top 10 of the latest ICC T20I bowling rankings amid the country's pace resurgence.

For the last couple of years, Bangladesh's pace attack has evolved into one of the dominating attacks in the cricket world, leading the side to many memorable victories. The spinners, however, did their job almost silently, which eventually was reflected in the ICC's rankings.

Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed moved three places to eighth with 661 rating points. His Bangladesh teammate Miraz made an even bigger leap, rising 10 places to ninth with 654 points.

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan leads the rankings with 720 points, followed by Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed on 718 and Australia's Adam Zampa on 700. England's Adil Rashid is fourth, while Australia's Nathan Ellis and England's Jamie Overton occupy fifth and sixth places respectively. India's Axar Patel is seventh with 664 points. India's Jasprit Bumrah completes the top 10 with 649 rating points.

Bangladesh's pace attack has been in impressive form in recent months, with Shoriful Islam producing a historic performance in the second Test against Australia in Darwin, where he became the first visiting bowler since Curtly Ambrose in 1993 to claim seven wickets in a Test innings on Australian soil. The team's bowling unit has been instrumental in Bangladesh's recent successes, including their historic Test victory against Australia and their strong showing in the ICC World Test Championship standings.
