NEW DELHI, May 28, (V7N)– The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has announced that President Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar will pay an official visit to India from May 30 to June 3 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This will be Min Aung Hlaing’s first visit to India in his current capacity. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation including Cabinet Ministers, senior officials, and business leaders.

The visit is expected to strengthen ties under India’s Neighborhood First, Act East, and MAHASAGAR frameworks, reflecting Myanmar’s strategic importance at the crossroads of South and Southeast Asia.

During his stay in New Delhi, President Min Aung Hlaing will hold discussions with Prime Minister Modi on June 1 to deepen historical and civilizational ties, and he will also participate in a business forum.

His itinerary includes a visit to Bodh Gaya on May 30, underscoring cultural and religious connections, and a trip to Mumbai on June 2 for business and industry interactions.

The visit was initially scheduled to coincide with the International Big Cat Alliance Summit on June 1, which has since been deferred.

This engagement is expected to further consolidate multi-faceted relations between India and Myanmar, spanning diplomacy, trade, and cultural cooperation.
