DHAKA, July 03 (v7n): Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon intervened to rescue the academic year of nine Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) candidates who missed their first exam due to administrative errors. The students—eight from Natore and one from Bogura—were barred from sitting for the Bengali First Paper exam on Thursday.

In Natore's Lalpur Upazila, eight students from Abdulpur Government College were left without admit cards after an office assistant, Amit Kumar Sarkar, allegedly embezzled their fees instead of depositing them with the Rajshahi Education Board. Following media coverage, the Education Minister ordered immediate emergency registration. The board completed their paperwork on Friday under a special arrangement, allowing them to resume the remaining exams as regular candidates starting Saturday. Police have arrested the accused assistant, and a three-member probe committee has been formed.

In a separate incident in Bogura's Sariakandi, a student missed Thursday's exam due to a registration number error made by college staff. Following the minister's direct orders, the education board corrected the mistake on Friday, ensuring the student could sit for the rest of the examinations regularly.
