Habiganj, Nov 09 (V7N) — BNP-nominated parliamentary candidate for Habiganj-4 (Madhabpur-Chunarughat), Alhaj Syed Mohammad Faisal, has pledged to prioritize public welfare and development if elected. He made the remarks during a large election rally organized by the Jagdishpur Union BNP at Jagdishpur Primary School grounds on Saturday afternoon.
Presiding over the rally, Union BNP President Syed Noor Mohammad Shahjahan welcomed attendees, while General Secretary Ekhlasur Rahman Bhuiya and Organizing Secretary M.M. Gaus jointly conducted the event.
Addressing the crowd, Syed Faisal said, “The people of the country are united in seeking justice, good governance, and development. The residents of Madhabpur and Chunarughat are waiting for change. As one of your own, it is my commitment to serve you. If elected, I will work to transform the lives of the neglected people in our region.”
He outlined his key development plans, including modernization of the education sector with sufficient teachers appointed to quality schools and colleges in every union. Health services will be expanded to local communities through upgraded health and maternal care centers. Additionally, rural road networks and transportation systems will be improved to enhance agriculture and commercial activities.
Speaking as a special guest, former District BNP Vice President Alhaj Syed Mohammad Shahjahan praised Faisal, saying, “Syed Faisal is not only a politician but also a social worker. People of Madhabpur and Chunarughat love him for his honesty, dedication, and humanitarianism. If we work together, a victory for the sheaf of paddy symbol is assured.”
Other speakers at the rally included Upazila BNP President Shamsul Islam Kamal, General Secretary Hamidur Rahman Hamdu, Vice Presidents Arju Mia Member, Parvez Hossain Chowdhury, Haji Oliullah, Joint Secretary Mostafa Kamal Babul, Poura BNP General Secretary Ala Uddin Al Roni, Organizing Secretary and Chairman Mahbubur Rahman Sohag, Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Enayet Ullah, former Poura Mayor Habibur Rahman Manik, former Vice Chairman Abdul Aziz, and various BNP and affiliated organizational leaders.
Speakers highlighted the hardships faced by citizens under the current government, including rising commodity prices, unemployment, declining law and order, and mismanagement in health and education. They emphasized that the public is now seeking change, which they described as symbolized by the BNP’s electoral emblem, the sheaf of paddy.
