DHAKA, June 25 (V7N) – Bangladesh's four main maritime ports – Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra – have been advised to hoist Local Cautionary Signal Number Three due to the formation of a low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay and adjoining regions.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a maritime warning bulletin today, indicating that a steep pressure gradient has developed over the North Bay under the influence of this low-pressure system. This atmospheric condition is likely to bring gusty or squally weather to the maritime ports, the North Bay, and the coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Local Cautionary Signal Number Three signifies that the port is threatened by squally weather, with wind speeds expected to range between 40-50 kilometers per hour. While not as severe as a full storm warning, it advises heightened vigilance.

In light of the developing weather, all fishing boats and trawlers currently operating over the North Bay have been strongly advised to return closer to the coast and proceed with extreme caution until further notice. This precaution aims to ensure the safety of mariners and prevent potential hazards posed by the deteriorating sea conditions.
