Dhaka, June 15 (V7N) — The Advisory Council has expressed satisfaction over the recent meeting between Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus and BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London. The council emphasized that if any political party has objections or statements regarding the matter, they should directly address them to the Chief Advisor.
This statement was made by Environment Advisor Rizwana Hasan while speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Sunday (June 15), marking the first working day after the Eid holidays. Three other advisors were present during the briefing.
“Any kind of problem is resolved through dialogue,” Rizwana Hasan added, underscoring the government’s commitment to resolving political issues through discussions.
Addressing other pressing issues, Road Transport and Power Advisor Fawzul Kabir explained that the Eid holiday traffic congestion was primarily due to the additional days off before Eid and the operation of unfit vehicles. He assured that strict actions would soon be taken against such vehicles to avoid similar suffering in the future.
Women and Children Affairs Advisor Sharmin H Murshid informed that the government is preparing to introduce visible policy decisions aimed at curbing violence against women. “If implemented properly, these initiatives are expected to significantly reduce violence against women across the country,” she said.
Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar noted that sacrificial animal supply was sufficient this Eid. “There were more animals ready for sacrifice than were needed,” she stated, adding that the absence of large political gatherings during Eid led to fewer large cattle being sold this year.
The press briefing reflected the Advisory Council’s efforts to address multiple national concerns, from politics to social welfare, following the long Eid holiday.
