Ankara, Jul 08 (V7N)- NATO leaders have announced a €70 billion military assistance package for Ukraine following the conclusion of the alliance's two-day summit in Ankara, reaffirming their long-term commitment to strengthening Kyiv's defense capabilities.

According to Al Jazeera, the announcement was made in a joint declaration issued at the end of the summit on Wednesday.

The declaration emphasized that NATO's deterrence and defense posture is built on a balanced combination of nuclear, conventional, and missile defense capabilities, supported by space and cyber assets.

"We are determined to maintain our military superiority," the alliance said in the communiqué, underscoring its commitment to strengthening collective defense amid evolving global security challenges.

NATO leaders also highlighted significant investments in the rapid adoption of emerging technologies and the modernization of allied armed forces. The declaration said member states are enhancing their ability to deploy, operate, and sustain military forces across all operational domains.

The modernization program includes the development of long-range precision strike capabilities, integrated air and missile defense systems, unmanned platforms, advanced intelligence capabilities, and other cutting-edge military technologies.

In addition, NATO announced plans to establish a Trans-Atlantic Warfighting Cloud, aimed at improving operational coordination and data sharing among allied forces. The alliance also said it would expand the integration of advanced artificial intelligence technologies into military planning and operations.

The newly announced €70 billion package is expected to further bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities as the country continues to receive military support from NATO allies amid ongoing regional security challenges.
