Belgrade, Nov 04 (V7N)- Anti-government protests in Serbia are continuing despite adverse weather conditions. Hundreds of people gathered in front of the parliament building in Belgrade on Monday, braving heavy rain and strong winds.
According to a report by the Associated Press (AP), demonstrators rallied against the government of President Aleksandar Vučić, accusing it of corruption and negligence. In an attempt to drown out the chants, authorities reportedly set up loudspeakers and played music near the protest site.
The protests, which began in 2024, were sparked by public outrage following the collapse of the Novi Sad railway station roof, which killed 16 people. The movement has since evolved into a broader campaign demanding government accountability and justice for the victims.
Two days ago marked one year since the tragedy, with thousands gathering at the railway station to observe a 16-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives.
