Tel Aviv, June 22 (V7N) — Israel has officially closed its airspace following the recent US attacks on three Iranian nuclear facilities. The Israeli Airport Authority announced on Sunday that the closure would remain in effect until further notice, Al Jazeera reports.
The statement read, “Due to recent events, the airspace of the State of Israel is closed to entry and exit.”
Despite the closure of airspace, the authority confirmed that land crossings with neighboring Egypt and Jordan are currently operating as usual.
The development follows a series of US airstrikes carried out late Saturday night targeting Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities. The unprecedented attacks triggered sharp reactions from Iran, with Tehran vowing retaliation against Israel and any other country providing military assistance.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and senior officials, including from the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters—the operational command center of Iran’s armed forces—issued warnings of expanded retaliation, particularly in response to direct US involvement.
With escalating tensions in the Middle East, global attention remains fixed on how Tehran will respond in the coming days. The unfolding situation has heightened international anxiety over the potential for a wider regional conflict.
