Tehran, Sep 05(V7N)- Iran has achieved complete self-sufficiency in producing military equipment, weapons and defense systems, the country's Air Defense Forces commander, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, has claimed.

Speaking in Tehran on Friday (September 4), Elhami said Iran's Air Defense Forces are using domestic knowledge, expertise and technology to produce and modernize the equipment and weapons they require, without relying on foreign sources.

He said Iran has used lessons learned from recent conflicts to develop and upgrade new air defense systems. Some of these systems, he added, were developed even during wartime and subsequently deployed on the battlefield.

Elhami said Iran is prepared to confront any form of conflict, either now or in the future, as threats against the country have not ended. He also acknowledged that the recent war demonstrated the need to further strengthen Iran's integrated air defense network.

According to the commander, Iran is producing military equipment based on its own requirements by utilizing the expertise of young defense scientists, knowledge-based institutions and universities.

Elhami described the recent war as another example of Iran's national strength and defense capabilities. He particularly praised the courage and resistance of members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' air defense units, saying they played an important role in confronting what he described as enemy aggression.
