Natore, Oct 2 (V7N) – A woman in Lalpur upazila of Natore district gave birth to five babies naturally on Tuesday night at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. The rare multiple birth occurred without surgical intervention.

The mother, 23-year-old Reshma Khatun from Saipara (Westpara) village, delivered three boys and two girls under medical supervision around 10:00 p.m. Sadly, one boy and one girl died within an hour of birth, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Their burial took place on Wednesday morning.

Reshma’s husband, Asib Hossain, a day laborer who earns Tk 450 daily working at a local farm, expressed his deep concern about providing for his wife and children. “With my limited income, it is nearly impossible to ensure proper care for my wife and babies. I seek support and prayers from everyone,” he said.

Hospital physicians confirmed that both the mother and the three surviving infants are currently stable but remain under close medical observation due to the high-risk nature of their condition.

Medical experts note that quintuplet births are extremely rare in Bangladesh and often pose serious health risks to both the mother and infants.
