PARIS, Feb 15, (V7N) - Lens reclaimed the Ligue 1 summit on Saturday with a commanding 5-0 victory over Paris FC, inspired by braces from Wesley Said and Rayan Fofana. The win, their third in succession, lifted Pierre Sage’s side to 52 points — one clear of champions Paris Saint-Germain, who lost 3-1 at Rennes on Friday.

Florian Thauvin added a penalty to Said’s double before Fofana struck twice in stoppage time, ensuring Lens capitalised on PSG’s slip. “Whenever we have the opportunity, we will do everything we can to take first place and keep it,” Thauvin told L1+.

Meanwhile, Marseille’s struggles continued as they surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Strasbourg at the Velodrome. Interim coach Jacques Abardonado, appointed after Roberto De Zerbi’s departure, saw goals from Mason Greenwood and Amine Gouiri cancelled out by Sebastian Nanasi and a Joaquin Panichelli penalty deep into injury time.

“It’s becoming a recurring theme,” Abardonado admitted. “The team is maybe not sick, but it is struggling a lot.” The draw left Marseille fourth, 11 points adrift of the leaders, while Strasbourg stayed seventh on 31 points.

Elsewhere, Lille climbed to fifth with a 1-1 draw against Brest, Gaetan Perrin equalising after Remy Labeau-Lascary’s opener.
