Lisbon, Aug 12 (V7N)- Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez after nearly a decade together, confirming months of speculation surrounding their relationship.
The couple announced their marriage on social media after holding a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on Tuesday (August 11). Ronaldo shared a photo showing the couple's wedding rings, while the ceremony was attended by their children.
Earlier, reports suggested that the wedding would take place in Ronaldo's hometown of Madeira. As a result, fans and media gathered near a cathedral in Funchal. However, the ceremony there was for another couple, and Ronaldo and Georgina instead exchanged vows in Cascais, around 20 miles from Lisbon.
The couple got engaged on August 11, 2025, exactly one year before their wedding. Georgina announced the engagement at the time with a photograph of her engagement ring.
Ronaldo and Georgina first met in 2016 while Georgina was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. Their relationship developed soon afterward, and they have since built a family together.
After almost 10 years of companionship, the couple has now officially begun a new chapter as husband and wife.
