Abu Dhabi, May 12 (V7N) — The United Arab Emirates allegedly took part in covert military actions alongside the United States and Israel against Iran, according to reports published by The Wall Street Journal and The Times of Israel.
The reports claim that in April, the UAE carried out an attack on an Iranian oil refinery located on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf. However, Abu Dhabi has not officially confirmed or denied involvement.
According to Israeli media, the strike allegedly occurred around the time when a ceasefire was being announced by US President Donald Trump, although the exact timing remains unclear.
Iranian authorities previously stated that an unidentified actor had targeted one of its facilities. In response, Tehran reportedly launched missile and drone strikes aimed at the UAE and Kuwait.
The Wall Street Journal report also noted that while several Gulf states avoided direct involvement in the conflict, Washington viewed the UAE’s participation as strategically supportive.
The UAE’s Foreign Ministry declined to comment on the allegations, while the Pentagon also refused to issue any statement.
Separately, the UAE’s Defense Ministry claimed that during the conflict Iran launched approximately 550 ballistic and cruise missiles and over 2,200 drones toward the country.
The reports highlight the UAE as one of the Gulf nations most frequently targeted in Iranian retaliatory attacks amid rising regional tensions.
