Seoul, June 20 (V7N) — North Korea launched more than 10 rockets northwest of its capital, Pyongyang, from the Sunan area on Thursday, according to South Korean military sources. The incident was reported by Reuters and confirmed by South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.

The missiles were fired from a coastal region, but specific details regarding their capabilities remain unclear. South Korean and US intelligence agencies are currently analyzing the data to better understand the nature of the launch. Both Seoul and Washington have reiterated their readiness to respond promptly to any provocations.

This missile launch comes amid heightened tensions following a recent trilateral air exercise held on Wednesday by South Korea, the United States, and Japan. The joint drills aimed to strengthen security cooperation among the three nations.

The launch also violates United Nations Security Council resolutions prohibiting North Korea from using ballistic missiles, further raising international concern over Pyongyang’s military activities.
