Tel Aviv, June 13 (V7N) – Panic has gripped Israel following fears of a massive counterattack by Iran. The Israeli government has declared a state of emergency across the country after launching an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities early Friday morning.
Authorities have closed educational institutions and banned public gatherings in several areas as precautionary measures. Security forces remain on maximum alert throughout the country.
Residents of various Israeli cities were seen rushing to supermarkets and shops after receiving emergency warning messages on their mobile phones. Many are stockpiling essential supplies, including water and food, fearing the escalation of conflict in the coming days.
“We are very scared. I was stunned when I suddenly received a message on my phone saying that Iran is attacking and that the situation is critical,” said one resident while hurriedly purchasing bottled water. “I want to stock up on essentials in case we have to stay indoors for days.”
Another resident shared, “I woke up to sirens at night. Since then, I haven’t been able to sleep. I came to buy supplies for my family. We just want peace.”
Hospitals across Israel are also preparing for the worst. Medical facilities are being shifted underground to protect patients and equipment from potential Iranian strikes. In northern Israel, the underground parking area of one hospital is being rapidly transformed into a fully operational medical center. More than a hundred beds have already been installed underground at Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Medical Center.
Israeli authorities have urged citizens to follow all instructions from the Defense Forces strictly. People have been asked to prepare their home safe rooms with sufficient supplies of food and water, warning that extended stays in these shelters may become necessary.
Meanwhile, normal life has come to a standstill in many places across the country. Schools, offices, and public institutions have been ordered to close, with large gatherings prohibited in numerous cities as Israel braces for possible Iranian retaliation.
