RANGAMATI, June 8, (V7N) – A BGB member who suddenly fell ill while on duty at the remote Chimbului border in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati has been urgently transferred to the Chittagong Combined Military Hospital (CMH) by helicopter. The humanitarian initiative by the BGB to ensure prompt treatment has been appreciated by locals.
When Havildar Md. Elahan Mia fell ill while on duty in the remote hilly border area, the BGB authorities took immediate action. With coordinated efforts of the BGB's operations and medical wings, a decision was made for emergency air evacuation, and a BGB helicopter was deployed within a short time.
Lt. Col. Mohiuddin Farooqui, commander of 54 BGB Baghaihat Battalion, said, "Under the overall guidance of the esteemed DG, BGB has taken necessary medical and air evacuation measures, giving utmost importance to the lives and well-being of members on duty in the remote mountainous border." He added that the BGB is always ready to ensure quick access to advanced medical services in emergencies.
According to BGB sources, the helicopter took off from Chimbului BOP at 2:36 pm and safely reached Chittagong CMH. Currently, Havildar Md. Elahan Mia is undergoing treatment there under the close supervision of specialist doctors.
This swift action by the BGB to ensure the welfare and safety of its members serving on the remote border is being considered a shining example of the force's humanitarian responsibility and sincerity towards its members. The local community has praised the BGB's prompt response to the medical emergency.
