Rajshahi, MAY 30 (V7N) — A books fair and a voluntary blood donation drive were inaugurated here on Saturday to mark the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the late President Sheikh Ziaur Rahman.
The events were held at Bhuban Mohan Park at 11:00am. The books fair was organised by Zia Smriti Pathagar, and the blood donation programme was arranged by Rajshahi Metropolitan Chhatra Dal. The inauguration was performed by the Hon. State Minister for Land, Mizanur Rahman Minu, MP. Mohd. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation and General Secretary of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP, attended as the special guest.
After the opening ceremony, the guests toured the various stalls at the fair.
Other attendees included Advocate Syed Shaheen Shawkat, Organising Secretary (Rajshahi Division) of BNP’s Central Executive Committee; Mamun-or-Rashid Mamun, President of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP; Nazrul Huda, Senior Vice-President of the metropolitan BNP; Waliul Haq Rana, Vice-President; Rakin Raihan Robin, Convener of Rajshahi Metropolitan Chhatra Dal; Emdadul Haque Limon, Member-Secretary; and other leaders from ward, thana and affiliated organisations.
