JHALAKATHI, April 29 (V7N) — The Devdwar Government Primary School No. 13 in Nalchiti upazila has been left in disarray after a Kalbaishakhi storm blew away the roof of its temporary tin‑shed building, raising serious concerns about the continuation of teaching activities.
Local residents and school sources said the school’s old building had long been unusable, forcing classes to be held in a makeshift tin‑shed structure. On Wednesday, the storm completely tore off the roof, leaving classrooms exposed and unusable.
The school currently serves around 200 students, whose education now faces uncertainty. Parents and teachers fear that without urgent repairs or construction of a new building, lessons will be severely disrupted.
Residents noted that they have repeatedly demanded a new building for the school, but no effective steps have been taken. The latest storm damage has made the situation more fragile, prompting calls for immediate intervention.
Locals urged authorities to act quickly, warning that students’ education will suffer if the damaged structure is not repaired or replaced with a permanent building.
