Dhaka, Apr 30 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold a workers’ rally in the capital on the occasion of International Workers’ Day, also known as May Day, on Thursday (May 1).

The rally will take place at 2:00 PM in front of the party’s central office in Nayapaltan. Party leaders said the event will be led by BNP Chairperson and Leader of Parliament Tarique Rahman.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan on Thursday morning.

BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister’s Advisor Nazrul Islam Khan said the May Day rally will be observed in a democratic environment. He added that Tarique Rahman, the chief guest of the event, is expected to deliver an important speech on the current situation of workers and contemporary national politics.

Senior BNP leaders including BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Prime Minister’s Industrial Affairs Advisor Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Sramik Dal Chief Coordinator Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, and Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Shafu were present at the briefing.

Party leaders said the rally will highlight workers’ rights, labor conditions, and ongoing political issues in the country.
