Dhaka, Feb 24 (V7N)- Abdul Moin Khan, Standing Committee Member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Member of Parliament, has said the party does not believe in the ideology of one-party rule, referring to the BAKSAL system as something imposed on the people “like a stone.”

He made the remarks after paying tribute to BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and the recently deceased former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at around 11:30 am on Tuesday (February 24). The tribute was joined by MPs elected from five constituencies in Narsingdi in the 13th National Parliament election.

BNP’s Political Ideology

Speaking to reporters afterward, Moin Khan said BNP stands for multi-party and parliamentary democracy, adding that the party has historically worked for the country’s independence and democratic values.

He said that during the night of March 25, 1971, when Pakistani forces launched their crackdown, Ziaur Rahman raised the flag of protest, and BNP continues to follow that spirit.

“Politics of People, Not Revenge”

Moin Khan described BNP as a liberal political party that believes in inclusive politics and the power of the people rather than revenge.

Referring to party chairperson Tarique Rahman, he said BNP remains committed to democracy and the rule of law and will work to safeguard both the country’s independence and democratic system.
