Dhaka, Feb 16 (V7N) — Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizens Party (NCP), alleged that votes in the recent elections were stolen, despite strong support from voters, including elderly and ailing citizens.

Patwari made the remarks during a press conference at Bangla Motor on Monday afternoon, attended by 24 expatriate Bangladeshis recently released from prison in the United Arab Emirates.

He highlighted that NCP had secured a few seats thanks to expatriate votes, which were cast in favor of “Shapla Kali” and the party’s 11-party alliance. Patwari said, “I cannot repay this debt to Bangladesh. When the country was in danger, expatriates supported the mass uprising, and those responsible for the election must apologize for stolen votes.”

Patwari also criticized the ruling party’s allocation of ministries, saying those responsible for the election have “placed extortionists, terrorists, and corrupt people in parliament” and should refrain from claiming ministries.

Additionally, he announced that NCP will work to combat syndicates controlling the prices of daily necessities during Ramadan, aiming to protect ordinary citizens from price manipulation.
