Zurich, Jul 23 (V7N) – FIFA has announced the official Fans' Best XI of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, just three days after the conclusion of the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada, with world champions Spain and semi-finalists France dominating the lineup.

The team, unveiled on Wednesday (July 22), was selected through a global fan vote and is arranged in a traditional 4-3-3 formation. Spain and France each have three players in the starting XI, while runners-up Argentina have two representatives. England, Norway and surprise quarter-finalists Cape Verde each have one player in the squad.

One of the biggest talking points following the announcement was the omission of Spain's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, despite his impressive performances throughout the tournament. No Brazilian player was included in the fan-selected team.

In goal, Cape Verde's Vozinia earned the highest number of fan votes among all players, receiving 39.6 percent of the vote after a series of outstanding performances that helped his nation enjoy a historic World Cup campaign.

The four-man defence features Spain's full-backs Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella, Argentina centre-back Lisandro Martínez, and France defender Dayot Upamecano. Cucurella played every minute of Spain's title-winning campaign, contributing two assists while helping his side keep seven clean sheets.

The midfield is anchored by Spain captain Rodri, who was named the tournament's Best Player, alongside France's Michael Olise, who registered seven assists, and England star Jude Bellingham, who finished the tournament with seven goals.

The attacking trio consists of three of world football's biggest stars—Argentina captain Lionel Messi, France's Kylian Mbappé, and Norway striker Erling Haaland.

Mbappé secured the Golden Boot for the second consecutive World Cup after scoring 10 goals and providing four assists. He also became the all-time leading scorer in FIFA World Cup history with 22 goals, while receiving the second-highest share of fan votes at 29.6 percent.

Messi, at the age of 39, inspired Argentina to a second straight World Cup final with eight goals and four assists, earning a place on the right wing. Haaland completed the frontline after scoring seven goals, despite Norway's campaign ending in the quarter-finals.
