Sirajganj, Feb 08 (V7N)- National Citizens Party (NCP) southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah said the upcoming parliamentary election has created an opportunity to rebuild public trust in the police, adding that the people of Bangladesh have once again given the law‑enforcement agencies a chance.
He made the remarks while addressing an election rally in Shahjadpur, Sirajganj, on Sunday.
Hasnat Abdullah said the election is not merely about choosing representatives, but about shaping the future of the country’s institutions. “This election will decide what the administration, police, judiciary and the state itself will look like over the next 100 years,” he said.
Referring to past governance, he alleged that leaders who rose to power through public struggle later prioritized personal interests abroad instead of serving the people. “This election is about changing our destiny,” he added.
Hasnat further alleged that over the past month, a political party has been campaigning against religious attire worn by women. He claimed that any attempt to undermine the dignity of women would be resisted, saying the people would stand firm to protect their honor.
Commenting on the electoral contest, he said only a few days remain before voting day and alleged internal dissatisfaction within the BNP. He claimed that some BNP leaders and activists are frustrated due to pressure related to extortion demands and are losing confidence ahead of the polls.
