Dhaka, Sep 03 (V7N)- Opposition Leader and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has said the 11-party alliance has announced a long march to protect public interests and uphold the spirit of the uprising.

He called on people to make the long march, scheduled for next Saturday, a success.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman made the remarks after a reception for world-renowned Hafizs at the opposition leader’s residence on Minto Road in the capital on Thursday (September 3) afternoon.

Addressing the people of the country, he alleged that the government has failed to protect public interests. Because of what he described as the government’s failure, the 11 parties have been forced to take their demands to the streets, he said.

He added that the opposition will remain vocal both in Parliament and on the streets to establish the rights of the country and its people.

Meanwhile, the Jamaat chief also alleged that the government lacks sincerity in improving the quality of Qaumi education in the country.
