Faridpur, Feb 04 (V7N) — BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman on Wednesday promised to fulfill the long-standing demand to divide Faridpur if his party wins the 13th National Parliament election on February 12. He made the remarks while seeking votes under the ‘paddy sheaf’ symbol at an election rally at Government Rajendra College ground in Faridpur.
During the rally, Tarique Rahman pledged to address Faridpur’s river erosion problem and highlighted the construction of the Padma Barrage to tackle the water crisis. He also spoke about promoting employment and cooperation for farmers, emphasizing the benefits of the BNP’s proposed ‘farmer card’ initiative.
Referring to Jamaat-e-Islami, the BNP chairman alleged that a conspiracy has been launched against the people’s voting rights. He accused certain groups of acting in secrecy, being untrustworthy, and making derogatory comments about women, adding that such actors cannot be relied upon. “They will say one thing with their mouths and do another. Nothing good can be expected from those who disrespect their country’s mothers and sisters,” he said.
Tarique Rahman further questioned how those involved in immoral activities before elections could establish governance based on honesty.
He concluded by promising that a BNP government would ensure the rule of the people and create a government accountable to the citizens, aiming to reshape the country and improve the fate of the people.
