Dhaka, Jan 24 (V7N) — BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman outlined the party’s vision for education, urban development, and youth empowerment during a “Meet and Greet with Tarique Rahman” event in Gulshan, Dhaka, on Wednesday. The event was held for the winners of the national reel-making competition “Amar Bhabnay Bangladesh.”
Tarique Rahman emphasized that primary school education will be a top priority if BNP forms the government. He stressed that teachers must be qualified and that education should include not only academics, but also sports, arts, and culture, making learning enjoyable and engaging for children.
He highlighted the need for better organization of government projects, noting that benefits from initiatives like the family card program should reach the public efficiently. He also mentioned ensuring safety, preventing corruption, and supporting farmers as key pillars for broader development.
On urban planning and traffic management, Tarique Rahman noted that Dhaka’s growth has increased congestion. He proposed building satellite towns outside the capital with proper education and health facilities and suggested that monorail systems could better connect the city than costly metro rail options.
Addressing youth employment and expatriates, he said, “Young people are going abroad unskilled. We plan to develop them into skilled workers and provide incentives for remittances sent through proper channels.”
The BNP Chairman also reiterated the party’s commitment to social values, child welfare, and organized development, emphasizing that reforms in education and urban planning will help create a more skilled, cultured, and secure society.
