Natore, Aug 17 (V7N) — Advocate Ruhul Quddus Talukdar Dulu, a central executive committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has alleged that a new conspiracy is underway to obstruct the upcoming national election, tentatively scheduled for February next year.
Speaking at the inauguration of a four-day-long Mahanam Yajna and Ashtakalin Leelakirtan in Bhushangacha village under Piprul Union of Naldanga upazila on Saturday, Dulu expressed concern over the emerging political climate.
“There is talk of elections in February, and once again conspiracies have begun surrounding it. Our BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has already held talks with the Chief Adviser, who assured us that a national election will be held in February,” he said. “However, there are two political forces in the country that are actively working to derail the electoral process.”
Dulu emphasized that the power to decide the country's leadership lies with the people. “If you support me, vote for me. If not, choose someone else. But I call upon all of you to stay united and resist these conspirators,” he added.
The religious-cultural event, attended by a significant number of local Hindu community members, also drew several BNP leaders, including Natore District BNP Convener Rahim Newaz, Joint Conveners Mostafizur Rahman Shaheen and Saiful Islam Aftab, District BNP member Sakhawat Hossain, and former Naldanga BNP Organizing Secretary Shariful Islam Bulbul.
Leaders of BNP's affiliated youth wing Jubo Dal were also present, including District President A. Hai Talukdar Dalim. From the local Hindu community, the President of Bhushangacha Sri Sri Sarbajonin Kalimata Temple, Bachchu Kumar Pramanik, and General Secretary Satyen Kumar Das also participated in the program.
The event concluded with a call for interfaith harmony and peaceful political participation ahead of the national election.
