Pabna, Jan 01 (V7N) — The Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) has expressed deep condolences following the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, describing her as an uncompromising leader and a symbol of courage and democratic struggle in Bangladesh.

In a condolence message, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S.M. Abdul Awal said the university community is deeply saddened by the demise of Khaleda Zia, noting that she was a fearless, steadfast, and principled political leader who played a crucial role in the struggle to uphold democracy and national sovereignty. He recalled that she served the nation three times as the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and remained firmly committed to democratic values throughout her political life.

The Vice-Chancellor further said that Khaleda Zia was a symbol of compassion, courage, and inspiration for the people of Bangladesh, embodying a guardian-like leadership. Her life, he said, was marked by sacrifice, struggle, and uninterrupted resistance. She dedicated her entire life to protecting the dignity, independence, democracy, and fundamental rights of the people of Bangladesh, enabling them to live with their heads held high. As a patriotic politician and stateswoman, her contributions to the nation will remain eternally memorable in history.

Similar messages of deep condolence and sympathy were expressed by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan. They prayed to Almighty Allah for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

The university community joined the nation in mourning the loss of a towering political figure whose legacy continues to shape Bangladesh’s democratic journey.
