Beirut, Aug 14 (V7N)- The Israeli military has continued bombing and destroying several villages and towns in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA).

The NNA reported on Friday (August 14) that Israeli forces carried out powerful explosions in the Masha al-Mansouri area around midnight local time. Explosive containers were also reportedly dropped from the air.

According to the report, Israeli forces also carried out sustained heavy machine-gun fire around the outskirts of Majdal Zoun and al-Mansouri, as well as nearby mountainous valleys.

Large explosions were additionally reported in the areas of Beit Yahoun, Hadatha and Qunin. The sounds of the explosions could reportedly be heard clearly in nearby coastal villages.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes and drones have continued flying over southern Lebanon amid the ongoing attacks.

The latest strikes come amid continued tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, with southern Lebanese areas remaining vulnerable to Israeli military operations.
