Rangamati, Dec 03 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Army distributed winter clothing to underprivileged Hindu priests and temple servants at the regional office of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust in Asambosti, Rangamati, on Tuesday. The initiative, organized by the Rangamati Sadar Zone, saw participation from over a hundred people.
The program was attended by Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ekramul Rahat, PSC, Zone Commander of Rangamati Sadar, who emphasized, “The Army’s responsibility extends beyond national security; we stand by people in times of hardship. It gives us great pleasure to provide winter clothes to the destitute religious servants at the onset of the cold season. This support will continue in the future.”
Other dignitaries present included Randi Chakraborti, chief priest of Sri Sri Raksha Kali Mandir; Nirmal Chakraborti, president of the Rangamati Priest Welfare Committee; Babla Mitra, general secretary of Sri Sri Kaivalyakunj (Ram Thakur) Mandir; and Parimal Mondal and Anik Majumdar, junior consultants (Training) of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust.
Recipients expressed deep gratitude, saying the support provided comfort and relief as winter approached. Local residents also noted that such humanitarian initiatives by the Army not only provide assistance but also strengthen communal harmony and social cohesion.
The program was warmly welcomed by people from surrounding temple areas, highlighting the Army’s commitment to humanitarian service and community engagement in Rangamati.
