Dhaka, Apr 14 (V7N) – Bengalis are welcoming the Bengali New Year 1433 with vibrant celebrations, including music, fairs, and traditional processions across the country. The festive spirit is especially visible in Dhaka, where various events are being held in different parts of the city.
If you want to celebrate Pahela Baishakh with family or friends, here are some key program taking place in the capital:
BSCIC Boishakhi Fair
The ‘Boishakhi Fair 1433’ is being held at the premises of Bangla Academy under the joint initiative of BSCIC and Bangla Academy.
The fair will run from April 14 to 20, open daily from 10 am to 7 pm, featuring a variety of traditional rural products.
Boishakhi Festival at Jatrabiriti
A two-day festival is being held at Jatrabiriti.
Visitors can enjoy Baul songs, dance, puppet shows, and Bioscope exhibitions. The Sonar Bangla Circus is also performing. Entry fee: Tk 500.
Arka Boishakh 1433
Organized by Arka Collective at the Aloki venue on Gulshan-Tejgaon Link Road, this festival includes fairs, play zones, food courts, and live band performances.
Daily ticket price: Tk 500.
Lal Boishakhi
This two-day event at Kamal Ataturk Park, organized by Rishka Connects, features nagordola rides, bioscope, photo booths, games, and concerts.
Entry fee: Tk 300.
SME Boishakhi Fair
The fair is being held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center and will continue until April 18.
More than 300 stalls offer local products, food, and handicrafts, along with daily cultural programs.
Festival of Boishakh at Chef’s Table Courtside
At Chef's Table Courtside, visitors can enjoy alpana art, puppet shows, games, and rides.
Concerts will be held in the afternoon. Entry fee: Tk 200 (general), Tk 800 (concert).
Traditional Fair in Old Dhaka
Areas like Chawkbazar are hosting traditional fairs featuring local food, toys, clay crafts, and a unique festive atmosphere.
