Pirojpur, Sep 14 (V7N)- Two state ministers made a surprise nighttime visit to Pirojpur District Sadar Hospital and expressed strong dissatisfaction after finding administrative irregularities, including poor-quality food for patients and doctors absent from assigned duty stations.

State Minister for Shipping and Pirojpur district in-charge Md. Rajib Ahsan MP and State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahmad Sohel Manjur MP visited the hospital without prior notice at around 8pm on Sunday (September 13).

They were accompanied by Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Sayeed, Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Motiur Rahman and other senior officials from the local administration and health department.

During the inspection, the ministers toured different hospital wards and visited patients at their bedsides. They spoke with patients and their relatives about the quality of treatment and asked whether government-supplied medicines were being provided regularly.

They also sought to know whether patients were receiving proper medical services or facing harassment, exploitation or interference from intermediaries.

The ministers later inspected the hospital kitchen to assess the quality and quantity of food being prepared and served to patients. They found discrepancies in the supply of food and questioned whether the government-prescribed diet chart and hygiene standards were being properly followed.

Expressing their dissatisfaction over the condition of the patients' food, the ministers directed the authorities to take immediate measures to address the irregularities.

At the end of the inspection, they ordered the authorities to ensure cleanliness across the hospital wards, regular attendance of doctors and a patient-friendly environment.

They also instructed the concerned officials to maintain continuous supervision of food supplies and take strict action against any irregularities or malpractice.
