Singapore, Dec 17 (V7N) – Dr. Abdullah Al Rafi, Clinical Fellow at the Orthopedics and Sports Surgery Department of Singapore General Hospital, has provided an update on the condition of Osman Hadi, emphasizing that while Hadi is expected to recover, his return is not imminent. Speaking in a verified video message shared on social media on Tuesday, Dr. Rafi cautioned against expecting a quick recovery, describing such assumptions as unrealistic.
Dr. Rafi highlighted the hospital’s advanced Neurosurgery Department, supported by the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI), which is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including robotic surgeries. “Given that a portion of the bullet remains inside Hadi’s head, intraoperative MRI will be necessary once his condition stabilizes. This is crucial and can only be performed here, as such procedures are not available in Bangladesh or neighboring countries. The family has therefore made the right decision,” he said.
He further explained that Hadi is currently in a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) level three condition, indicating severe head injury. Recovery for such patients is inherently slow and requires extended ICU care. Dr. Rafi cited a recent case of another patient with severe head trauma who remained in ICU for three months, underscoring that Hadi’s recovery cannot be rushed and will involve ongoing medical challenges even after stabilization.
The specialist concluded that while recovery is possible, Hadi will face a long period of intensive care and post-operative treatment, with gradual improvement over time.
