Dhaka, Nov 19 (V7N) — Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain has emphasized that national progress is impossible if women are left behind, stressing the need to expand women’s education in madrasas to uphold the true history of Islam.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the Hifzul Quran Award 2025 ceremony held in the capital on Wednesday. More than a hundred Hafiz students were honored at the event, organized by the Nibras Foundation.

Highlighting the opportunities created after the July Revolution, the advisor said, “If we miss the chance to expand madrasa education now, we may have to wait another 54 years.” He urged all stakeholders to set aside ideological differences and remain united.

AFM Khalid Hossain also expressed optimism that the country is on course to get a good government in the upcoming national election.
