Dhaka, Oct 08 (V7N) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ambassador Beris Ekinci, paid a courtesy call on Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus at the state guest house Jamuna on Tuesday (October 7).

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Turkey, with special focus on expanding partnerships in education, health, and technology.

Ambassador Ekinci, on her first visit to Bangladesh, expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the government and conveyed the greetings and congratulations of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. She also extended an invitation to Chief Advisor Yunus to visit Turkey at a mutually convenient time.

Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus warmly accepted the invitation and said,

 “We want to take our relations to a higher level than ever before. This is a new beginning after the July Revolution – the two countries can work together in many areas, including education, health, and technology.”

He also expressed his gratitude to the Turkish government for providing free medical care to seven Bangladeshis injured in the July Revolution.

Deputy Foreign Minister Ekinci reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s development initiatives and highlighted ongoing Turkish programs offering short- and long-term scholarships and student exchanges for Bangladeshi students.

Senior Secretary and Principal Coordinator for SDGs at the Office of the Chief Advisor Lamia Morshed, Bangladesh Ambassador to Turkey M. Amanul Haque, and Director General of the Eastern Europe and CIS Wing Md. Mosharraf Hossain were also present at the meeting.
