Washington, Nov 07 (V7N)- The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million, along with possible relocation, for information about Iran’s nuclear programme.
The offer was announced through the US State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme. The US Central Command said the reward applies to information about Iran’s nuclear facilities, equipment and associated personnel, including members of its scientific community, as well as the movement of related materials and assets.
In its statement, the State Department cited a 2025 report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which said Iran was enriching uranium to 60 per cent purity. The statement described this as a short technical step from the 90 per cent enrichment level generally required to produce weapons-grade uranium.
It also said Iran was the only country without nuclear weapons to produce uranium at such a high enrichment level. Experts estimate that the quantity of uranium enriched to 60 per cent, if further enriched, could be sufficient to produce several nuclear weapons.
The US statement further alleged that Iran’s failure to comply with IAEA safeguards obligations had resulted in the agency losing “continuity of knowledge” about the country’s production and inventory of key nuclear components, including centrifuges.
The programme did not specify what information would qualify for the maximum $20 million reward.
